
Techcombank is one of Vietnam's leading private joint-stock commercial banks, serving millions of individual and business customers. Its product and marketing teams work in an environment that demands both strict compliance and constant digital innovation: from building digital-banking features to running personalized campaigns across millions of customer segments.
The teams at Techcombank faced a problem common among Vietnamese enterprises: the AI training market offers plenty of options, but most are far too generic. Off-the-shelf courses tend to stop at theory and basic prompting, never connecting to the day-to-day operations of a financial institution built on process and compliance.
Each PRD took 4–6 hours to write by hand. User stories were rebuilt from scratch every time, with no shared standard. Prototype iterations were cut short to meet sprint deadlines. On the marketing side, data was analyzed manually and campaign content was produced one segment at a time — impossible to scale across a customer base of millions.
The problem wasn't that the teams didn't know about AI. It was that no one had shown them how to bring AI into the exact processes and tools they use every day.
ZTO Labs didn't bring in a ready-made course and roll it out. The team designed two separate programs from the ground up, using Techcombank's own products, data and workflows as the learning material throughout.
